Taking it easy
Checkin' out the potty
We haven't started using the potty yet, but I did get it put together and out for Dylan to see. He thought it was a toy and loved the music it played. He will often sit on it, so that is a good start. He also likes to push it around. We haven't figured which bathroom we are going to put it in yet. Our powder room is on the main floor, which would be the most logical place, but there isn't a lot of room in there, so we will see.
Memorial Day Weekend

We had a very busy weekend. I felt like we worked and played outside the entire time. On Friday, Todd and I picked up a few flowers from Lowes and on Saturday I started planting away. Todd got a pickup load of mulch delivered on Friday, so I knew that was going to keep us busy. Dylan was a really good helper too. Hopefully I do a better job watering the flowers this year. Last year I didn't do so well.
On Saturday Suzette and Rachel came over in the afternoon and the kids went through the sprinkler. They LOVED it... I have some video of it that I'll download for you to see. It was pretty entertaining.
Tractor Time:
Todd was having fun giving the kids tractor rides. Dylan LOVED it, Rachel wasn't too sure of it. I think she didn't like the noise. When the tractor was off, she would sit on it though.
Run Rachel, Run...
Later that night, Michael came over and Suzette went out and picked up some chicken. We also made some corn on the cob and baked potatoes. It was yummy. Suzette and I had some margaritas too. They were a little strong, so I put some Midori in them to make them a tad sweeter. We didn't seem to mind at all. After we put the kids down for the night, we taught them how to play liverpool. Go figure, Suzette won... it must have been beginners luck. Either that or the margaritas were really kicking in. It was probably a little of both =)
On Sunday morning we went out for breakfast at IHOP and then picked up more flowers.
LOWES... here we come. Dylan enjoys his car rides, especially when we have the baby einstein videos in.
WOW... Did we spend that much??? Todd wanted to take a look at the receipt one more time.
Dylan carried around his flag and said hi to everyone as they walked by us.
Later that afternoon the kids played outside and played ring around the rosie.
Tractor Time again...
Our little helpers:
Dylan loves hanging around the boys. Robert helped us out a lot on Sunday. He helped lay the mulch down on our beds. I'll take some pictures of them so you can see.

Bubbles

Dylan loves anything with bubbles. Actually, I think I do too. Since the weather has been so nice lately, we typically spend our time outside. Dylan's favorite thing to do now is push around his lawn mower. This Fisher Price one is pretty cute too, the bubbles begin flowing after the mower is pushed around. When Dylan first got it he would push the mower, then stop and say BUBBLES. Then he would push it again.

I would suggest getting a mower for any toddler you know. It will keep them occupied for awhile. Plus, its always cute watching him imitate daddy.

Potty Time
Ch-ch-changes... man oh man, I feel like Dylan is growing up so fast. The daycare suggested we start introducing the potty to him, so Todd went out and got one. That was a pretty funny discussion over the phone. He picked out a pretty cute one though, its the Fisher Price laugh and learn potty.

I think we will introduce him this weekend. I found an article of the 12 most common potty training problems. I'm sure we will have lots of stories to tell you. This should be an intersting journy... I've already had several golden showers changing him and when he has stood up in the bath tub. I also found a link to 15 most favorite common potty books that I might have to look into. Sometimes I think we need some inspiration and also use some humor to get us through this process. Hopefully they books will help and also be fun for Todd, Dylan, and me. Has anyone heard of any of these books or liked any others, let me know.

Rachel Ray candy wrappers
It seems like so many of my friends and family are either pregnant or getting married. Check out Rachel Ray's site to make candy wrappers.

You've got to check this out... personal wrappers you can create on your own by going out to Rachel Ray's website
I made one to put in Dylan's scrapbook, but you could cut it out along the scissor lines. Then fold the wrapper around a 5 ounce candy bar and tape the top flap over the bottom and then you have your favor. Pretty neat huh?

Grey's Anatomy finale
As many of you know, I am addicted to Grey’s Anatomy and can not get enough of it. So, what did you think of the finale? I had to watch it twice. I love that show.

Personally I think the finale left us with too many unanswered questions though. McDreamy was acting like a McJerk the whole time. He was almost bragging to Meredith about talking to a girl in the bar to get her reaction. I thought it was kind of funny that she didn’t really care and then to find out it was her sister. That sure will be interesting next season. Meridith's dad is plain awful and blamed her for the death of her step mother. That girl can never catch a break can she? Then poor Alex, he was actually the "player" and fell for his patient. I sure hope there is more to that story. And come on - Richard's wife was pregnant with Richard's baby? When did THAT happen? Too bad, she lost it though. And Callie is replacing Miranda as chief of residents? That seemed a little strange to me. I thought Miranda was Richard's "girl." And don't get me started on Izzy. I used to love her character, but she has so much drama. Could she be any more annoying? Enough is enough… give up on George. Then there is Christina… she was the one that had to be pushed down the aisle and be convinced to marry Burke. Wasn’t she relieved when he said it was over? I thought it was great he turned her down right before the wedding started though. Then there is Addison's character who wants to have a baby and is going to have a spin off and move to L.A. I wonder how that will be? I hated the 2 hr episode with the new characters. It seemed as though everyone was gorgeous and it was like a soap opera. Knowing me though, I’ll still watch it. Todd couldn’t stand it. Then there is McSteamy, what is going to happen to him? I actually like him. I kind of like the cocky guys. He is so full of himself and is lady’s man. I’m sure he will hit on all the new interns. Then there is George, I felt so bad he failed his intern exam. What will happen to him? My friend said that he didn’t sign a contract next year, so does that mean he is off the show? I loved the ending though when they brought in all the new interns. Hopefully next season will be good. Too bad we have to wait 3 months to see the new shows… man, what am I going to do? j/k. I’m not that much of a dork. I do love the show though.

Weekend
This weekend sure went by pretty fast. Friday night, we stayed in and didn't do a thing. On Saturday, Dylan and I went shopping for some jammies. Todd worked all morning and then helped Don out with his deck. Later that evening we all went over to Michael and Suzette's for a get together. We planned on getting there before the party started to help, but that didn't actually happen. Go figure, am I ever early for something? I loaded the bean bag games, the lawn chairs, and food/drinks, and by the time I knew it it was after 6. The party started at 6. We got there and Todd met us there. It was a lot of fun. There were 6 couples plus us there and everyone had 1 year olds, so that was fun for the adults and the kids. They all played together really well. The nice thing too was the neighbors down the street were having their annual crawfish boil. The hired an awesome band and we all enjoyed the music. We thought about crashing it and going down there. On Sunday, we went out for brunch and then did yardwork. Dylan helped me pull weeds and then pushed around his mower. He had to immitate what his daddy was doing. I helped mow the front yard and I have to say, I really like the lawn mower. I might have to do that more and then also work on my tan.
We did an upgrade with work this weekend too, so I found myself doing some testing and working in the evenings. Overall it was a success, but now I can not log into the system and they are working on it. Go figure...

New boyfriend... uh oh
Suzette and Rachel came over yesterday and we found out Rachel has a new boyfriend... uh oh Dylan. He is another kid in the daycare and his name is Owen. He is a cute boy with blonde hair and blue eyes. Tonight Dylan's friend Laci came over, I think he might have moved on too. (SMILE) They are all good friends.
We grilled out last night and had burgers, hot dogs, potatos w/cheese & brocolli, salad and watermellon. Todd was having a lot of fun tossing around the kids. Suzette and I were just laughing at him while he played with them. The kids loved it.

Todd and Dylan both had watermelon tonight. Speaking of eating, Dylan ate all his breakfast, most of his lunch, and most of his dinner tonight. Plus, for his snack he had a few pieces of watermelon and danced around each time he had it. Way to go Dylan...

Hanging out
Dylan LOVES to play with cars. Grandpa Stoffel showed him how to crash them and that is something he does often. He also makes little car noises when he plays with them, which is so funny to us.
Todd is busy making a surprise gift for someone, so he has been busy in the garage lately. Of course, Dylan and I have to distract him every once and awhile.
