Happy 3rd Birthday Dylan

What can I say, my baby is getting bigger. I can't believe Dylan is 3 today. We are going to have a small celebration tomorrow with our family and then have a bigger one sometime in December. Jason and Amanda will be in town tomorrow and we are getting our family picture, so we figured we could celebrate Dylans and my dads at the same time since their birthdays are only 3 days apart.

Our friends the Glasses called today and they were the 1st ones to wish Dylan a happy birthday.

Today we have been taking down fall decorations and putting up Christmas decorations. Yes, can you believe it... I'm on the ball this year. I love the fall stuff though, so I'm kind of bummed taking it down.

brrr- cold

Ok, call me a wimp but it was so cold this morning. It was only 8 degrees. Luckily I didn't have to bundle the kids up to go to daycare. My friend Michele and her two little ones came over, so we were able to stay at home.

Gavin is doing much better. I think the humidifier along with the nasal saline drops are doing the trick. He still sleeps through the day and is up a few times for feedings during the nights. I'm hoping he will sleep through the night as soon as Dylan did. Dylan was sleeping 13 hours at 8 weeks.

Dylan went poopy in the potty

Congrats Dylan!!! He went poopy in the potty two times, so his treat is to go to the Madagascar movie. We are taking him on Friday afternoon.

Gavin under the weather

Poor Gavin, he is sick ALREADY... he is very congested and had a sneeze, runny nose and is having a hard time breathing. I've been suctioning him out and giving him saline drops. Today he went to the doctor and they basically said just keep doing that and also put a vaporizer in his room. He has been sleeping in the swing at night to help with the draining. Take a look at the pictures and you can see that he just looks miserable. Hang in there buddy...

big brother

Dylan loves to hold his little brother. I tell him to hold his head up and also hold his butt. He sure thinks that is funny.

Gavin stool

Thanks Andi, Troy, Keagan, Kade and Kenna-
We LOVE LOVE LOVE the Gavin stool you guys gave us. They come in handy for so many things. Right now I have both Dylan's and Gavin's in the bathroom and it works out perfect for baths and brushing teeth.

thanks again

sad news

Todd's grandma passed away last Monday. She was 90 years old and was going down hill, but its always so sad to lose someone that you love. We went to the wake and funeral over the weekend. We took Dylan and Gavin to the wake and my parents watched them during the funeral. Dylan and Gavin's great grandma Stoffel came down to see them. Dylan gave her a great big hug. She also made a paper boat for him, which he liked and then crumpled it up. Got to luv 2 year olds huh?

On Friday Todd got in a fender bender. Luckily it was not his fault and no one was hurt, but our new car got hit on the back passanger side. We are just having bad luck lately.

My USB cord on my camera is shot, so I need to get an adapter. That is on my list for tomorrow. As soon as I get one, I'll post some recent pictures. We took a lot over the weekend. Gavin looks like he is already growing. He is such a good baby. He does sleep most of the day and wakes up every 3 hours at night. I'm getting used to it though.

Gavins stats

We went to our week check up for Gavin and he is doing well. He is in the 50th percentile for head, 75th percentile for height and 25-50th percentile for weight.

He is at 7 lbs 9 ounces and is 21 1/4 inches long now. Way to go Gavin!!!

Mom and I went out shopping yesterday. The baby slept the entire time, so I knew I was in store for a sleepless night. The good thing is, Dylan didn't wake up once and Gavin did only a few times. I am tired today and should be sleeping, but I wanted to catch up on emails. I'll post a little more later.

Chuck-e-cheese

We went to Chuck-e-cheese to celebrate Dylan going poop in the potty... It was a really fun night and Dylan is still talking about it. Now, if we can get him to always do this, it will be great.

Halloween was pretty fun this year. It was a beautiful night and Dylan was so excited. Todd stayed home passing out the KING size snickers bars with Gavin and mom and I took Dylan around. He was so sweet to everyone. He would always say trick or treat followed by a thank you.

Day 3:
YIPPEE... its the day we can go home. Baby Gavin had his circumcision in the morning and then they did his hearing test. All went well. Todd had to work and so did my mom, so my dad took Dylan to daycare and picked me up from the hospital. What a HUGE help that was. He had to make 2 trips to the car. The first was to take the luggage down and the next was to come back and get the babies sleeper since his going home outfit was too big. He is just a little peanut.

We dropped my pain prescription off at the pharmacy and headed home. Dad decided to make some homemade soup and also chicken and rice. What a nice treat. He picked up Dylan from the daycare and made a grocery visit. Mom came up later that night and stayed the rest of the week.

In case you were wondering, Dylan's armband read, "Dylan- I am the big brother". It was really nice for our nurse to do that for him.
Day 2:
Todd decided to go home and take a shower and spend some time with Dylan. They arrived back at the hospital with my parents and Dylan during the evening. Todd's cousin Eric and his wife stopped by too. That was really nice. After visiting hours, Todd, Dylan and my parents went home and Gavin and I just relaxed. The nurse gave him a bath and also took him to the nursery that night, so I got a few hours of sleep.

Day 1:
I started having contractions at 7am and then finally went to the hospital at 11am. I didn't know if they were real or not, but thought I didn't want to chance it. Good thing too. Todd arrived at the hospital around 1-ish and they gave me my epidural at 3pm. At 4:35 they said it was time to push and Gavin arrive at 4:40pm. What a precious little gift.

My parents were a huge help. They picked Dylan up from the daycare, gave him dinner and then came to the hospital. It was so nice seeing his smile on his face and to watch him hold his little brother for the first time. Angie, Curt, Carter and Avery came later in the evening and we had a nice visit.

Todd stayed at the hospital with me the first night and my parents went home with Dylan. He was a good little boy for them.
