Weekend

Friday night was a very low key night. We planned on going to watch the firworks around 9, but Dylan had already fell asleep, so we didn't go. We heard them go off though. I'm sure there will be plenty of other times to see them.

Saturday Dylan and I went for a nice walk and went to a few garage sales in the neighborhood. We found some great deals. We bought two booster seats at our first one. Granted, we didn't really need them, but I figured another one would come in handy with any of Dylan's friends/cousins visiting. The other one, we will give to Suzette and Michael for Rachel. They were planning on getting a new one for their trip to the beach. We've already tested it out on Rachel and she likes it. I also found a tricycle and several trucks, trains, cars, etc. for him to play with. My biggest purchase was a glider. I've been looking for a very nice one with cherry stain and I didn't want to pay full price for it. After our walk, I planned on going to get my phone replaced... I'll tell you about that in just a bit. Anyway, as soon as we got out of the subdivision, Dylan fell asleep. I decided to just drive around instead of going back home. So, I went through a few new subdivisions, and I just happened to drive by a sale that had a lot of baby/toddler things. I kept the car going, rolled down his window and got out of the car. The glider is real wood and has a cherry stain in excellent condition. The cushions are baby blue, so I haven't decided if I'm going to replace that yet or not since it doesn't "go" with the color scheme in our living room. I could always switch out my pillows though and have a new color palate. I love brown, tan and blue together, so that might just work out. I guess we need to decide wehre to put it, my vote is the livign room, but Todd might opt for the basement. If we put it in the living room though, we will need to do some rearranging. Right now we still have Dylan's pack-n-play up. We only use this when we change him and it does come in handy.

About my phone... right before our walk, I let Dylan have it and it dropped on the floor. Most of the time, the battery just comes apart and then you clip it back on and its fine. Well, this time, it cracked the phone... I guess one to many drops. I was planning on getting a new one anyway because I could never get a connection in the house. We have bettere luck with Sanyo phones. So, after Dylan woke up from his nap, we went to Radio Shack for a new phone. I was going to go to the Sprint store, but its always so busy. I orinally wanted the blue phone, but they didn't have it in stock and I didn't want the black one. The sales person said they had some at the mall that I could swing by and get if I would like. She told me the colors and I was interested in the pink one... Yeah, I know girly right? Well, its not really pink or at least it doesn't scream out pink. The color is cherry blossum and its a metalic pink.

I love it... I've only used it a few times and I haven't tested out all the features yet, so that will be fun. The bad thing is I've lost all the numbers I had stored. The associate thought if I went to the Sprint store they might be able to transfer my numbers over. We will see... I'll probably try that when I get back from my work trip. I'll be in Texas this week, but back on Thursday.

Weekend

This weekend sure went by pretty fast. Friday night, we stayed in and didn't do a thing. On Saturday, Dylan and I went shopping for some jammies. Todd worked all morning and then helped Don out with his deck. Later that evening we all went over to Michael and Suzette's for a get together. We planned on getting there before the party started to help, but that didn't actually happen. Go figure, am I ever early for something? I loaded the bean bag games, the lawn chairs, and food/drinks, and by the time I knew it it was after 6. The party started at 6. We got there and Todd met us there. It was a lot of fun. There were 6 couples plus us there and everyone had 1 year olds, so that was fun for the adults and the kids. They all played together really well. The nice thing too was the neighbors down the street were having their annual crawfish boil. The hired an awesome band and we all enjoyed the music. We thought about crashing it and going down there. On Sunday, we went out for brunch and then did yardwork. Dylan helped me pull weeds and then pushed around his mower. He had to immitate what his daddy was doing. I helped mow the front yard and I have to say, I really like the lawn mower. I might have to do that more and then also work on my tan.

We did an upgrade with work this weekend too, so I found myself doing some testing and working in the evenings. Overall it was a success, but now I can not log into the system and they are working on it. Go figure...

Lazy weekend

This weekend was pretty relaxing for us. Both Todd and I were exhausted from the week, so we needed the rest. We watched My Super Ex-girlfriend on Friday night, which I thought it was pretty funny.

Saturday, Dylan got a haircut and he looks like a big boy now. He did really good sitting in the chair too, which I was shocked. I wish I had some pictures, because he just kept on looking at himself in the mirror wondering what the lady was doing to him. He got a sucker for being such a good boy too, so I think he liked that. Afterwards, we went shopping and met up with Suzette and Rachel. We found some good deals. We both were looking for some chairs for our lego tables, and we found some that were on clearance. They work pretty good and they are perfect height for the kids. I got two and she got two.

I found the base at the garage sale.
Luckily Todd is pretty handy. He added the legs and the chairs just went with it... yippee.

I'm now looking for a mesh bag for the middle to hold the legos.
Does anyone know where I can get one?

We also decided to go clothes shopping at the mall. I was looking for some shorts, but I couldn't find any that I really liked, go figure. Suzette found some cute ones that look great on her though. I found a few shirts that were cute, so we both had good shopping days.

After shopping we decided to go out for dinner. Well, that was a mistake. Dylan would not sit in the highchair at all. He was kind of fussy and was grabbing at everything.
Rachel also bumped her head, so she wasn't happy. Luckily the people around us had kids too, so they could relate. Suzette and I just got our dinners boxed up and then we went home.

On Sunday Todd decided he needed to get a lawn mower since his riding mower is getting some work done and would not be fixed for another three weeks. He ended up getting a John Deer one, he just loves it.

Dylan also had a fun time in the sprinkler. At first he didn't know what to think. Once I went through it with him, he liked it a lot better. After that, we went on the swing. Dylan just loves being outside.

Just one more time... I love the wind in my hair
