Denver- Part 3

The morning of day 3, my aunt made a special breakfast for us... oh so yummy. She made chocolate chip pancakes for Dylan, which he didn't want, but he sure ate the regular ones. I really wanted to say how greatful we were to my aunt for letting us stay with her.

We dropped Todd off at the hotel so he could do the guy thing with the wedding party and my parents and I took the kids to the Childrens Museum. It was great and very much geared towards Dylan's age group. The first thing we did was explore the firetruck and looked at the hoses.




My mom showed Dylan the 9-1-1 section and it was pretty neat.

Then there was the exploration section and Gavin loved this. He was able to crawl all over the place and of course found some pots and pans to make his music =)







We then headed upstairs and went into the area for 4 years old and older for the building station. Dad and Dylan made a pretty cool car. It was fun watching them build together. Dylan was really getting into using the saw on the wood.






They also had an art center, where we watched Dylan paint a picture. We also put our handprints on another and we will treasure this as a keepsake.





Then it was time to go grocery shopping- pretend at least

We were all getting hungry, so we decided to go outside. Well.... we saw a playground and had to play on that too.




We headed to lunch and then called Todd and asked if he checked in the room. He did, so we met him at the hotel. The rooms were nice, but they did not have a refrigerator or a microwave in the room, so we requested a refrigerator and they granted the wish. I don't know what we would have done without that since we ALWAYS have to have milk with us. You guys all know Dylan.

Later that night, Todd and I went to the rehearsal and dinner. Mom and dad watched the kiddos. They had fun going swimming and playing with them. We had a great time meeting some new people, reconnecting with people we knew from college and having some alone time. It was an emotional night for the bride and groom.

When we got back to the room this is the cutest thing we saw. Dylan was all cuddled up in the bed with grandma and grandpa. Gavin was sleeping in his pac-n-play... so cute. I stayed in after that and Todd decided to go back out with the guys. He sure felt it the next morning...

Trip to Colorado- Day 1 (Colorado Springs)

So, the day after I lost my job, our family took a trip to Colorado. My parents came along too, which was awesome. Todd was in a wedding, so they watched the kiddos for us when we went to the rehearsal dinner and also the wedding. When we arrived on Wednesday, we went to Colorado Springs and did the Royal Gorge, Incline Railroad, and tried going to Seven Falls. It was such a rainy and windy day that they closed Seven Falls down, but we were still able to see some of the waterfalls.





We took so many pictures, so I'll try to condense and put them in slide shows for you to view.

I was so nervous on the bridge since it was so high up and it was very windy. It was so beautiful though and definately worth seeing.

We also decided to go on the incline railroad even though it was sprinkling out. Dylan wanted to be in the same car as my parents, so we said that sounds like a good idea. We also noticed that there were no bathrooms down there, so we made sure to ask him if he had to go and he said uh no... so we said ok. Well, when we got down there, he had to go, so what were we to do????



You got it... we found a discrete place for him to go. Todd said, now don't tell anyone. Well, as soon as he was done he announced it to everyone he went potty. It was embarrassing, but pretty funny too.

We had to of course have a funnel cake and then ahhhh it was nap time

This just sums it up that we are all kids at heart



On the way out, we had to get a group picture too... Of course, Dylan didn't want to cooperate, so we have him in the background. Oh well, you just have to love the personality of a 3 1/2 year old.




After we left the Royal Gorge we drove to Seven Falls before stopping at my aunt Ritas for the night. Both kiddos slept on thet way. I have to admit, I did too.




Seven Falls:



We had to stop and see the bridges and waterfalls that weren't closed down. So cool. Next time we are there, I would love to see all seven of them.

When we got to my aunt Ritas she had dinner all ready and we had yummy Mexican night. We had fajitas, tacos, and margaritas... Oh soooo yummy
