Heading back to Iowa

After we left the hotel in Nebraska, we were on our way to Iowa. We knew we would be in Des Moines around 5:30-ish, so we called Andi and Troy to see if they wanted to meet for dinner. The great thing is they had that night free, so we got to see them.

Dylan was soooo happy to see his cousins. Plus, it was a great rest for us too. We went out for Mexican and it was soooo good. Thank you Andi and Troy for dinner.

Day after the wedding

So, in the morning, we all decided to meet down at the lobby and go out for breakfast. We also knew Raman and Kristi were in town, so we told them which restaurant we were going to and met up with them. It was great seeing them.

Dylan is telling us some sort of story.

After breakfast, we packed up and left Colorado. We had such a great time. We ended up driving for awhile and stopped at a hotel. We figured we had some time, so the next day we were able to go swimming with the kids and just relax.

Colorado- Wedding Day

Well, Todd was not feeling good the day of the wedding. He had a headache like no other and his stomach was quesy... bottle flu??? Anyway, we decided to head out and explore the downtown area. We left Todd sleep it off and I promised to bring him back some soup. We went to lunch and just observed everyone in the streets. What a great city. There is always things going on and everyone is so active. When we got back to the hotel we saw my aunt and her daughter in the lobby. She was picking my parents up to go to the Botanical Gardens. Afterwards, they were going to do dinner and head over to my uncles house. Since Dylan was my date for the wedding, they took Gavin along.

Todd was getting ready when I got to the hotel and he was feeling a little better. I gave him his soup and he said that seemed to help.

He was out the door by 3pm and Dylan and I had some downtime before the wedding at 5:30. We hung out on the patio area and got some sun and then watched the Iowa game before we got ready.

He was such a great date and I must say entertaining to all.

Before the wedding, we all met in the lobby and we saw Amber's parents at the carriage. We snapped some pictures and then were ushered into the courtyard. Josh was soooo nervous. It was a beautiful evening. Once we saw Amber in her carriage, there was a pause before she got out. Josh didn't realize his voice could be heard from the microphone and he said to Todd... maybe she changed her mind. The crowd was chuckling and then he realized we all could hear. It was a good ice breaker for him. The wedding was BEAUTIFUL.

Amber was completely flawless. Her dress was absolutely beautiful.

After the wedding, we went to cocktail hour. Dylan enjoyed sipping on his drink and sitting with the adults. The wedding party was off getting their pictures taken, so we enjoyed meeting new people while we waited before we were able to enter the reception area.

Before the wedding party was announced, we went up to the room to get the gift.

At the reception... It was a formal sit-down wedding. We were assigned tables. Luckily, we were at a table with some nice people who were fun. The couple I sat next to had to small children, not with them, so whatever Dylan wanted, they got him. The woman on Dylan's left was one of the groomsman's mother.

She loved Dylan and was a fun grandma. She actually offered him her steak and he loved it... Expensive taste. He didn't want his shrimp coctail or even his cake if you can believe that.

At the reception, Dylan enjoyed taking a lot of pictures (Over 300 + ). The photographers were just eating that up.

Dylan didn't even make it to the dance, he was soooo tired. So, Todd and I brought him up to the room. We also wanted to see how Gavin was doing too.

My parents went to the botanical gardens with my aunt during the afternoon and they strolled around Gavin. That evening they went over to my uncles house while we were at the wedding. When we got up to the room, they were just resting and they already had Gavin down. My dad snapped a few pictures of Todd and I and then we asked if would be ok if we went back to the reception. We stayed out until after 1am. It was a lot of fun.
